Who is onestars deputy

Was Onestar's personality change reasonable under the circumstances or outright outrageous? For anyone who has read the first series to AVoS can agree that Onestar's personality has had some major changes ever since he became leader. Now I'm sure everyone reading this would know who Onestar is but this is just a small recap so you know the points I make in this post are indeed valid.

Onestar was a very well liked character and warrior in the first series and a good friend of Firestar's before and during the Great Journey. He was a last minute replacement for Mudclaw's deputy position when Tallstar suddenly saw Mudclaw unfit to lead his clan. Onewhisker was chosen instead and therefore became the new leader of WindClan and with the help of ThunderClan, was able to fight off a rebellion led by Mudclaw and Hawkfrost.

He had no experience of leadership since Onewhisker has never spent any time being a deputy and his leadership was obtained rather out of the blue. We don't see Onestar much the remainder of The New Prophecy but when he helps ThunderClan fight off the badger attack that killed Cinderpelt.

In The Power of Three he's shown much more often. Onestar is quite aggressive towards ThunderClan in the new arc, and even tries to raid their camp one night through some underground tunnels. This attack failed however and he was forced to retreat.

Onestar denies to give lungwort a herb that cures a deadly disease plaguing ShadowClan to ShadowClan even with the knowledge that he was killing the clan. He blames the death of his clanmate, Furzepelt, on ShadowClan even though she was killed by the claws of rogues and not SC's. He claims he could care less if SC died out and insults them brutally during a Gathering when Rowanstar arrives at the meeting late with only two other remaining warriors of his clan, the others having deserted him.

He dies later in the arc by either drowning or wounds inflicted by Darktail the result of a one night stand of Onestar and a kittypet. First of all, Onewhisker had no experience of how to lead a clan since he was always the one being ordered because he was a normal warrior. Jumping from warrior to leader is a huge gap and one that possibly put him in such a stressful situation he changed himself to cope with it.

The Onestar we knew before, Onewhisker, was always kind and understanding, but his personality completely changed in the third and fourth arcs. When Onestar was a warrior, he had no need to be tough and demanding, that meant cutting off the friendship he had with Firestar because he knew other clans would see that as a weakness. Onestar has said that he wished for WindClan to be a strong and respected clan, not a second-hand man for ThunderClan. Mudclaw : " But please.

You can't give away our territory. These first days We need to defend ourselves now if WindClan is ever going to be safe. Threats could come from anywhere. I respect you. We all respect you. You're one of the best warriors I've ever known. But right now, setting up good relations with the other Clans is more important than a few tail-lengths of woodland. Apprentice Version. And I would like you to carry on being WindClan's deputy. I'll need your support and experience every pawstep of the way. There are four Clans in the forest, but we can still help one another. See more Onestar : " Hunting has been good on the moor.

Creaky old mange-pelt! Tallstar appointed me in the last moments of his life, and no cat was more astonished than I was. I felt I was unworthy And events have proved that I was right. Kestrelflight : " The Dark Forest is for cats who have given themselves to evil.

That isn't you, Onestar. I could have told you that long ago, if you'd trusted me enough to be honest with me. I admit that it was a selfish fear. I started to worry that StarClan would judge me harshly for my mistakes—and StarClan knows, I have made many of those. End of spoiler warning.
