As crazy as South Park had already proven to be throughout Season 1, this whole Terrance and Phillip joke showcased the creators weren't afraid to mess with their fans. Season 2, Episode 2 revealed that Cartman's mother, Liane, was a hermaphrodite and his father. However, that was debunked in Season 14 when the town admitted to lying to Cartman to preserve the Broncos' winning season.
Still, the Season 2 premiere remains a classic episode. Not to mention a solid swerve that is still a bit of a gut punch when streaming the series from beginning to end.
